The 2016 shanghai film festival best cinematography award winning movie "soul on a string" is actually a visual treat for every viewer. The duration of this film is nearly two-and-a-half-hours. After this visually stunning movie you will definitely get the answer of a serious question. That is 'why the Tibetans are so attached to their land?'.

The camera plays a vital role in this movie because every single move of the central character tabei is important. Tabei gets a sacred stone from the mouth of a deer. By the advise of a Buddhist saint tabei decided to go to the sacred land of Buddha (the holy mountain of Buddha's hand print) It is also a story of a solitary traveler, Gedan, with a dog called general who lightens the mood from time to time. There is an another interesting tale of two brothers. They planned to kill tabei for fulfill their revenge.


Finally the slow moving Tibetan epic turns into an action drama. The director Zhang yang adapt the story from the famous two novels written by Tibetan writer tashi dawa.
